Interface

All RTU Insights products will have a three-level dashboard structure, as well as allowing access to trends in historian if the user chooses. (Products include small RTUs, large RTUs, package units).

Upon viewing the system, the user is informed on: which buildings have critical failures, and how many overall failures there are; what percent of the systems are at an acceptable ranges; what the most common failure types are; and other roll-up information.

When a user selects a building, they are brought to a more detailed view on: which equipment has critical failures, and what the failures are; what equipment needs maintenance or attention; what percent of the time each system is within an acceptable range; and some building-level roll-up information.

This view shows the user current sparks and faults, as well as system information such as temperature, setpoints, fan speeds, and so on. This screen gives a user enough information to ‘triage’ an issue if there are issues or problems. This screen also shows any notes added to the equipment (last filter change date, last refrigerant charge date, etc.). This level may vary depending on product and equipment type.

Note: RTU Insights could be used to monitor a system serving multiple zones (e.g. a VAV system, or a multi-zone unit), but the scope of the monitoring would be limited to the RTU itself, and not the various zones that it serves.

Connectivity

ETC Group has developed connectivity solutions to address one of four RTU types:

  1. Factory Enabled Communicating RTUs
  2. After Market Communicating RTUs – RTUs w/ optional upgrade communicating card
  3. Standard RTUs – requiring R&R of existing controller by a networked BMS/EMS system
  4. BAS/EMS RTUs – RTU’s already being monitored/controlled by a networked BMS/EMS system

ETC Group can support nearly every type of RTU with four connectivity options.
